naughty

i love you a whole clock has been a little forgotten of late. i've been swamped by work, so much so that i've had to cancel market days - very sad face. i've lost my blogging confidence a little. i don't want to give up on my internet patch though, so i'm going to try much harder.

here is a quick round up of some fun stuff i've managed to squeeze in amongst the busy times:

lovely storage jars found in my fave charity shop for £1.50 each & then seen for £5 at: http://labourandwait.co.uk/

continuing with a theme - vintage storage jar from chatsworth road marche

being silly in stripes at the v&a

beautiful autumnal sunshine

afternoon tea at liberty with a bestie

liberty lusting...

in a couple of hours i'm off to berlin with work for a shoot. we're shooting at night-time so my suitcase is packed with hot water bottles, bobble hats & aarron cardies knitted by queen nana irene. i'll be back soon.

this little piggy had a slow day at market

today was market day & it was a little slow to stay the least. i think the amazing sunshine kept shoppers away, which was a little disappointing but we still had a lovely day & met some nice peeps. & thank you to all my friends who stopped by to sell hello.

can anyone suggest any popular indoor markets in london?

i can't make you love me a whole clock

last night i was so lucky and got to see the wonderful adele perform at the hammersmith apollo.

she was incredible.

the highlight for me was her cover of bonnie raitt's i can't make you love me. it's one of my favouritest songs & brought me to tears. here's her perfoming the same song at the itunes festi back in july:

and a big shout-out to lovely rose for hooking me up with such hot tickets - thank you!! xx

edinburgh craftiness

i went to edinburgh for a long weekend to stay with lovely family & check out the fringe festi. we did a lot of laughing & drank buckets of pear cider. luckily for me & not so lucky for jb, the fringe co-incided with the craft, art & design fair, which i dragged him round. one of the stalls was selling prints by a little company called owl & lion who have a studio in the grassmarket area of the city. i just couldn't let these two go...

this one is called bears do say sorry

this one is called , homesick

they are by an illustrator called parko polo & you can find out more about him here: http://www.parkopolo.eu/

i am going to wait until we move home to hang them but i want them side by side somewhere; i really heart the colours.

i spied lots of other crafty-nice-ness but didn't always have my camera ready. i did however snap up these huge paper-cut-installations which i thought were very unusal & quite impressive:

bye for now xxx

i love trauma tombola a whole clock

we had an amazing sea-side weekend in brighton & on sunday we dragged our sorry, hungover selves to the yard - a super-cute little alleyway of market stalls where mur has her vintage set-up, say that you loved me:

one of the stalls was called trauma tombola,‘where every silver lining has a cloud’

it was the most bizzare idea but utterly addictive. it was the same set-up as a normal tomobla, you paid your money & pulled out a ticket & if you had a super-special-ticket then you won a prize...a prize with an exception. everything up for grabs was traumatic:

my first three goes were fruitless - but that just spurred me on! and finally on go number four i hit jackpot!!! ticket number 380 the most revolting prize of all, used pop-socks:

*please excuse the very hungover state of affairs that is my face
& also i stole the photo from the yard - fanks!*

from previous posts you'll know that i bloody love winning stuff, even, it appears, kinda gross stuff

high-five truama tombola

you can check out their facebook page here:  https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Yard/115973941819418?sk=wall

i love cake bunting a whole clock

with a distinct lack of market action my card production has been slim to none. i needed a craft fix. with a bestie birthday on the horizon i got it in the form of cake bunting. yes. teeny tiny little bunting to put on a cake.

as my baking skills are not so hot the gorgeous coffee & walnut cake was provided by little amy & the birthday bethie loved it.

yay to cake bunting. i love it! xxx

i love the 'our workshop' a whole clock, part 2

yesterday was like celebrating christmas in august as my wonderful prizes arrived from our workshop.

everything came in this beautifully presented box

taped to the inside was a little letter

and then to the goodies...

how lovely is it all? i am so lucky.

i heart it all millions but my top three have to be, in no particular order:

the little boat salt 'n pepper shaker

the pineapple ice-cube bucket as it matches my car boot 50p jug & little apple glasses perfectly

the casette oyster card holder, not only is it a 'hanitape' (it was meant to be!) but i'm forever losing my oyster in my bag...not for much longer!

wow. winning stuff totally rocks. anyone that wants brilliant stuff should check out our workshop:

i love crystal palace a whole clock

on sunday i took the train to crystal palace to meet my lovely friend & personal se19 tour guide caro. we were on a mission to explore the vintage delights that the south east has to offer & explore them we did. first stop: haynes lane market, which is an aladdins cave of treasure. i was so overwhelmed with it's amazingness that i neglected to really take any photos but within about 17 minutes i was two purchases in...more on those later.

then we pottered round the 'triangle' an area peppered with vintage homeware & clothing shops. the most inspiring & well stocked was crystal palace antiques market. check out the gorgeous enamel lampshades with the huge clock in the background, oh and the cutest hand-made bears...i thought they looked like they were in a band.

bear band

it was such a hot sunny day, i honestly felt like i was on holiday. we stumbled across a cutesey little craft market in a pub garden & there was one particular stall that i really impressed with. a lovely lady called donna who was selling amongst other things beutifully finished bunting, totes & handmade cards...

this is a link to donna's etsy page: www.etsy/shop/donnarule

i can so recommend a trip to crystal palace, just twenty minutes on the train from victoria, it seems to be an untapped source for treasure & prices are cheap as chips...here are my spoils from the day:

firstly, this amazing record player for just £25. all our our records apart from this one are in storage & i can confirm that rod has never sounded so good.

and this very handsome suitcase for all jb's shoes, a second bargain at just £12

thanks caro for a perfect day!

yay. after two weeks of separation i have been reunited with my most beloved piece of jewellery. my alex monroe bumble. i sent him off to be gold plated because be was looking a little tired. everything feels better now he's back, all super-shiny & looking brand new.
